The Deafness
Awareness Programme targets hearing adults and
children in order to create an awareness |

of Deafness, to
facilitate an acceptance, integration and
socialisation of Deaf people into the "hearing |

world" therefore
bridging the gap between the Deaf and hearing
communities |
| |

| |
Other aims are to
highlight the abilities of Deaf people, eradicate
stereotypes and motivate hearing people to learn sign
language |

|
| |
The targeted groups
include the Government sector, mainstream schools,
primary health care, clinics, children's homes etc. |
